Vietanh Nguyen is a Staff Design Engineer at Uber currently leading the Plugin Squad team which shapes workflows between Uber’s designers and engineers. Before Uber, he spent 10+ years running product excellence initiatives and launching products end-to-end at Material Design, Google Store, Google Play, Microsoft Research Asia, and IBM. He got his Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction and Bachelor in Computer Science from MIT '11, '10. He has been defining the meaning of UX in the Vietnam industry via his interactive blog at www.uxlagi.com. Outside of work, he has engineered Vietnamese typography on Google Fonts, written design articles, drew monograms, and made board games at www.naboardgames.com.

Using Figma to go beyond Figma
Dylan and Vietanh will show a suite of Figma-powered design tools that let their team build out core and global Uber experiences. Without this infrastructure, it would have been impossible to build coherent design flows which let Uber user buy transit tickets in Denver, order a rickshaw in Bangalore, have local favorite Churrascaria delivered to your doorstep in São Paulo, and ship important consumer goods across the US during the COVID-19 pandemic.
